Apologies to the damned for my lackluster performance, and, again, the lateness of this post.
Been listening to too much Poets of the Fall and Imagine Dragons. But their music is good to crochet to which is probably why I did manage to finish the bat blanket. Yay!
Here are a couple of terrible pictures.

It turned out okay and I like the blood red moon with the bat flying over it. Wish now that I had crocheted with a smaller hook. Used a 5 mm when 4.5 mm would have been better.
Wasted a lot of time checking out learning JavaScript programming. Why do I want to learn to code? No idea. I have learned a couple of coding languages, so I know I do like that sort of thing. My brain is just looking for something else to waste time with, I suppose.
Wanted to get this post out a couple of days ago, but I went down two rabbit holes. One was deciding on some books to give to charity. Did finally finish that and off they have gone.
The other was designing the goth house on the cross-stitched pillow sham for my bed. Did figure out which rooms will be where: library and parlour on the main floor, three bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor, nursery and servants quarters on the third, then the roof and attic. Thinking about a vampire hanging upside down in the attic.
The parlour will need a Home Sweet Home picture on the wall, but maybe should say Hell Damned Hell. Would be appropriately goth, I think. But if any of you kind damned ones have better ideas, let me know in the comments. Thank you.
Want to use Aida cloth that’s at least 18 stitches per inch so the design can be quite intricate. And I would like to do this on cloth that’s a light grey. Hope I can find that, though I suppose I could always use some fabric paint. That should work.
Anyway, after that, spent more time avoiding this blog by watching Rachel Maksy. Love her stuff, of course. In her latest video, she made trees and scenery out of cardboard and craft paper. Have absolutely no plans to do something similar, but watched it all and enjoyed it immensely. Since I did enjoy it, was I really wasting my time? Probably. Was I doing it to avoid writing this post? Most definitely.
For the Dali jacket, think I would like to have chains hanging off it. Don’t know how. And I want crosses. Upside down, of course. Maybe a row of them along the hem. Got the idea of chains from this picture of a doll. Have no idea where it came from, but here it is:

Prepped the linen fabric I’ll be using. Have five metres which is more than enough. And dug out a pattern to reuse, so it should be good to go.
Want frames for the Dali paintings. Would like stripes but not sure what the two colours should be. I like green and purple, but they don’t really go with the paintings. Guess I should decide after I figure out which paintings will go on. Maybe some garish gimp trim.
Didn’t do much on the chandelier purse. Mostly been hemming and hawing about what to do next. Decisions, decisions. Do want to show it off to friends next weekend.
Thank you, damned ones. Your presence here pleases my little damned heart more than I can say.

It has been a combination of busy plus doing nothing in my life too (well, except I spend a ton of time giving messages from the dead, so that’s big spooky goth street cred points I guess).
I still LOVE the bat crochet and might get the oomph to try it sometime.
Good for you for actually sending books along instead of just hoping and trying–the jacket idea seems great too. I loved Dali’s jewels, the actual physical jewels that he did, a lot. Good luck with that.
I also have fantasies of doing cross stitch and bought an armload of the older fantasy-type kits from ebay recently, and also go to a place online called something quite like Gryphon’s Moon that has some nice pagany/fantasy/semi-goth cross stitch patterns (only, not kits) plus a ton of jewelry etc, for sale.
There were some rather cool black on white kits of fairy tales (maybe white on black? Have to look again) somewhere online–more Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty etc. and maybe even sort of haunted house ish thing but not bad, so I might try that since that would be easier since preprinted and also spookyish even if not my exact desired scenes. I have been trying to get folks to get together for some free hangout on Zoom chit and stitch time but it hasn’t really happened. Oh well–more excuses are often welcome!

Thanks for the reminder about Dali’s jewels. Forgot about them.
And the Gryphon’s Moon site looks interesting. Thanks again. Think I’ll be going down another rabbit hole there.

I found them really nice people and bougth some loot from them recently for the first time. They package things really charmingly in little reusable drawstring bags, and they have some random lots that are really decent–I got two sterling silver ‘poison rings’ (one with nice amethyst and one peridot) together for a cheap price. The random loots are worth looking at and are not just grabbags–they show exactly what you get honestly.
